We built phioautomation.com as a playground for PLC and Automation enthusiasts of all skill levels. We invite you to write, run, and share your code with our first of its kind, open, web-based interpreter. Our goal is to make it easier for the automation community to learn from one another, collaborate, and share ideas freely. Whether you're a beginner looking to learn the IEC 61131-3 Structured Text language for the first time or a seasoned professional, come enjoy a new experience.

What makes learning and sharing code difficult in today's environment? Most automation vendors provide proprietary software. With phioautomation.com, you get:

  • No 10GB download and install
  • No expensive license or trial license that must be constantly reset (100% free to use)
  • No Windows only installer, run it on any device or Operating System that has a browser
  • Files are 100% plain text, no proprietary encoding or xml wrapping
  • One button click to share a link to your code with anyone, anywhere in the world

phioautomation.com aims to provide an environment with zero barriers for anyone wanting to learn to code.

If you thought phioautomation.com might just be a fancy calculator, guess again. We have full support for all of the so-called object oriented programming features including function block inheritance via EXTENDS, INTERFACE declarations with METHOD and PROPERTY members and much more. phioautomation.com intends to be fully compliant with the IEC 61131-3 language specification.

Don't just take my word for it, check out some examples!

phioautomation.com does not hide behind any kind of paywall to unlock features, does not bombard the user with advertisements, and does not use tracking cookies or sell information. We aim to serve the community and are excited to help introduce new persons to the world of controls and automation.

To use the editor, it is NOT required that you create an account with us. Anyone can write and run their code at any time. We recommend creating an account if you wish to create documents that can be shared (view only) by anyone in the world. Gone are the days where this community needs to share PDF documents with plain text code or otherwise struggle to share ideas.

We are excited to see what you build at phioautomation.com, and please don't hesitate to share feedback!
